Meet Roan’s Species

The unique ecological conditions of the Roan Highlands support many rare and unique species. The Roan supports an astonishing 33 federally or state listed threatened and endangered species - 27 of which are globally rare. This includes six federally listed species (five endangered species and one threatened species), which are protected by the Endangered Species Act.
